A good day. Rehearsals mainly concentrated on the songs (i.e. vocal pieces) being developed. My morning's Pencil Frenzy was directed towards Parts IV & V of "Larks' Tongues" and "The ConstruKction Of Light". The guitar parts are frighteningly difficult and several steps beyond anything I've attempted in public for 25 years.
20.38 While eating my soup & salad, VH1 had a "History Of Rock" featuring synthesisers and studios in the 1970s. An advert then had "Heroes" (not the Bowie version) for its music before returning to the programme, featuring Bowie & Eno talking about studio work. And a photograph appeared of Bowie, Fripp & Eno from the Berlin "Heroes" sessions of July 1977.
This was a magical time, of changes and changing and possibilities and wonderment and a beginning again. This was during the early part of my time in New York. Everything changed during those three years.
